The Rose Farthing issue is thought to have begun in 1638 AD, in an attempt to solve a counterfeiting problem hat had arisen. All previous issues were demonetised and the type 4 Rose Farthings were carried forwards. Lord Mowbray, who held the patent for this issue lost control of the Token House in 1642 with the start of the Civil War, bringing an end to the Rose Farthing issue. [No Reserve]
