Attributed to E.G Punnett (British), an Arts & Crafts oak and inlaid wardrobe made by William Birch of High Wycombe c.1900 The moulded cornice above two panelled doors with pewter knob handles enclosing hanging space and flanked by stylised ebony, pewter and brass inlaid flower heads, with two base drawers, on square section feet 198cm high, 175cm wide, 62cm deep Property from a Private London Collection. Pauline Agius shows some of the items that Punnett’s name appears with in the Birch design and costings books in 1901, in the months October and November, and says that it is unclear whether he designed them all or perhaps some references may have occurred because he costed them.
