Description
Translation provided by Youdao
c.10th century BC. A bronze tanged arrowhead with straight shoulders, strong rounded, projecting midrib tapering towards the point, cylindrical stem with handle for the shaft. Cf. Khorasani, M.M., Arms and Armour from Iran. The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tübingen, 2006, item 463, for type. 31 grams, 13cm (5"). Property of a London gallery; previously with a North London gallery; acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s. The arrowhead can be ascribed to type V, subtype D, of the Khorasani classification, comprising triangular arrowheads with lanceolate shape and rounded midrib, while the straight shoulders recall a typology from Marlik (see Khorasani, 2006, p.307, fig.379").
