A Marlin five-shot, .32 calibre single action rimfire revolver; with 75mm rifled top-hinged ribbed barrel, extractor pin below barrel with bold foliate engraving to nickel-plated frame, steel barrel and fluted cylinder, spur trigger and original plain ivory grip scales; serial number 1724 to breech face of barrel, 'T MARLIN NEW-HAVEN CT PAT JULY, 1 1872' to left barrel and 'XXX STANDARD 1872' to top of barrel; with probably original felt-lined wood hinged case holding 'G & J. W. HAWKSLEY' oil bottle; lid with plain brass escutcheon, with fitted lock and key.
