12th-10th century BC. A large bronze elongated triangular arrowhead with raised midrib, sharp central groove, cylindrical stem with handle for the shaft, barbed shoulders and convex sides. See Cf. Khorasani, M.M., Arms and Armour from Iran. The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tübingen, 2006, figs.376 and 379, for type. 30.2 grams, 17cm (6 3/4"). Property of a London gallery; previously with a North London gallery; acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s. One of the categories of arrowheads coming from Marlik shows a larger triangular blade with barbed shoulders, and has been ascribed from Negahban to the subtype C of the type V of Luristan or North Persian arrowheads.
