A Chinese jade carved belt buckle and a hairpin, dating from the Ming dynasty ( 1368-1644). The rectangular, thick belt buckle with sharp corners, features a landscape design of two birds near water with a tree. The reverse has two square raised pieces of jade for affixing the buckle. The slender curved elegant hairpin is rounded at one end and has a small scroll at other end, all completely smooth. Rectangular buckle: D. 3" (7.6 cm), Hairpin: L. 5 1/4" (13.3 cm) Condition: both in good condition overall with natural fissure and inclusion
