黃楊樹生長不易，木質堅韌細膩。本品以整塊黃楊木鏤雕而成，一體成形，形態逼真，刀工圓轉勁健飽滿，線條流暢精美，相當珍貴。如意主體雕二莖荷葉，覆荷與盛蓮形成如意首，中段荷葉對卷微合，葉上雕琢鳴蛙兩相對望，如意柄部雕蓮藕三節，意態生動，頗具妙趣。荷花盛開後結藕，寓意良緣之喜；蓮蓬多含蓮子，諧音「連子」，以雙蛙臥蓮葉象徵「連生胖娃」之意。清代如意作為吉祥象徵，為世人所重，本品色澤溫潤深沉，盡顯古樸典雅美感。
