Important Chinese porcelain emblazoned plate for export. Company of the Indies. Chien Lung period (1736-1795). Circa 1760. The center of the seat is occupied by a splendid crest with a mounted Mughal warrior on horseback outlined against a turquoise blue background. On it a helmet and a deer and surrounding scrolls in red iron and gold. Cavet and eave delimited by spearhead in iron red and gold, the latter being decorated with four vignettes in grisaille that alternate birds on flowering branches with landscapes.
