A LARGE CANTON ENAMEL CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY 清 十九世纪铜胎画珐琅盖盒 The circular box with deep rounded sides rising from a short spreading foot, finely enamelled around the exterior with four rectangular ‘double happiness’ characters, all encircled by flowers, butterflies and dragonflies reserved on a pink ground, the domed cover centred with a shou character and similarly decorated, the interior enamelled pink (2) Height: 22cm Diameter: 38cm Condition Report The exterior of the cover has two areas of restoration to the enamel (circa 11 x 16 and 10 x 12cm) restoration to three areas of the exterior of the box (8 x 2, and 12 x 2cm at the rim, and circa 8cm diameter), three areas to the interior of the box ( 7 x5, 13 x 10, and circa 13cm diameter) and overall light enamel crazing.
