A RARE PAIR OF CHINESE ENAMEL BOAT SHAPED TRAYS, QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD, 1736 – 1795 清 《乾隆年製》款 銅胎畫琺琅船型盤 一對 Each painted to the interior with butterflies, double-gourds, peony and lotus sprigs reserved against an egg-yolk yellow ground, gilt rims, the exterior finely detailed in gilt with further butterflies and floral sprigs against a green ground, the base enamelled white and inscribed with a four-character reign mark in iron-red within a double square (2) Length: 13.5cm Height: 3.5cm Width: 6.5cm It is rare to find any tray of this boat form, possibly made in Guangzhou and sent as tribute to the Imperial Court. An individual example of similar size, also bearing a four-character Qianlong mark within a double square, was included by Michael Gillingham in the exhibition Chinese Painted Enamels, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 1978, cat. no. 73 這種船形的盤子較為少見,很有可能是廣州製造並進貢給清代朝廷的.一件類似的盤子同時寫有乾隆年製雙圈款曾在牛津阿什莫爾博物館 1978年的中國琺琅器展覽中展出.圖錄中為73號展品.
