Description

1934年莊喆出生於中國北京，成長養成教育於臺灣。1954 年進入台灣師範大學美術系就讀，1958年畢業後，同年加入「五月畫會」，成為主要成員之一。1965 年，莊喆首次個展於台灣台北的國立藝術館。筆觸抑揚頓挫伴隨色彩宛轉空間近乎狂喜狀態，畫面經常展現自然滴流波濺、撞擊、冷峻、氤氳、蒼潤之氣質，伴隨縱橫吞吐及疏密深遠之律動，在渾沌與飛揚之中另闢圖象蹊徑，誠可視為藝術家內省感受頓悟之智慧。
