古耀華1973年生於臺灣桃園。國立清華大學中國語文學系畢業、中國文化大學藝術研究所碩士，師從蔡雄祥先生學習古文字及篆刻，向歐豪年先生學習水墨。 刻印的過程，印中文字的一橫一豎一如建築中的一梁一柱。 古耀華老師說：「篆刻之道，以線構字，以字築印。」也因這樣的嘗試，創造出老古特有的篆刻風格，由其在刀法上有別於前人的沖切刀勢，以其深厚的美術功底，營造出迷離的美感印面。
