青玉玉料，局部受沁呈黑褐色、有白色沁斑。本件為生活用玉，同時具有裝飾作用。長方形，中空，頂部做圓弧狀拱起，下端內凹。側邊鑿有兩孔，以供髮簪穿過。器表浮雕寬線，兩邊雕琢雲紋，線條簡單優雅。 髮冠在漢代是專門供貴族戴的帽子，本器以玉料琢成，紋飾簡約，打磨細膩，工藝精良，類此題材相當罕見，十分珍稀。
