Momoyama (1573-1615) or Edo (1615-1868) period, 17th/18th centuryA circular turned-wood tray, the top lacquered red, the black-lacquer undercoat faintly showing through in some places, the rim and reverse lacquered black, the area within the footring inlaid in shell with five floral motifs; with a wooden storage box. 55cm (21 5/8in) diameter.
