By the Nogawa Company, Meiji era (1868-1912), early 20th centurySupported on three bronze bracket feet, decorated in gilt, silver, bronze and shibuichi flat inlay with a wide central band encircling the body enclosing butterflies hovering among spring plants and leaves on a shakudo ground, the top with shippo-hanabishi (flowery-diamond linked-jewels), the bottom with a band of interlocking rectangles, reserved on a bronze ground; signed on the base with the silver flat-inlaid mark of the Nogawa Company. 9.5cm (3¾in) high.
