The moonflask is decorated with two blue-glazed qilin handles to the shoulders. The flat sides are decorated with a circular panel, one enclosing a scholar on horseback with an attendant amongst flowers and trees, and the other with a sage, scholar, and an attendant below pine trees and rocks. The panels are interspersed with flowers and butterflies all on a stippled green-glazed ground.
