The teapot is of baluster form, it is decorated with two leaf-shaped panels enclosing two quails amongst flowers, all reserved on a black-glazed ground decorated with gilt and famille rose butterflies. The cover is decorated with lea shaped panels enclosing flowers, all surmounted by a lotus bud finial.Condition: The cover with areas of restoration.The spout with a small area of restoration (approx. 0.5 cm.), otherwise appears to be in overall good condition.Origin: ChinaPeriod: Yongzheng period (1723-1735)Sizes: 15.00 cm.
