One Hundred Beauties, 19th centuryHandscroll, ink and color on silk, bearing a signature of Shifu Qiu Ying zhi and a seal of Shizhou, with a frontpiece by Zhuang Yan (1899-1980), dated to dingsi (1977), with two seals reading Liuyi weng and Zhuang Yan shoujinshu, with four colophons by Zhuang Yan, Huang Junbi (1898-1991), Yao Menggu (1912-1993), and Chen Qiquan (1917-2003), all dated to dingsi year (1977), with a box inscribed by Zhuang Yan. 18 x 301 1/2in (45.6 x 765.8cm)
|(仿) 仇英 西清百美圖 設色絹本 手卷 十九世紀Provenance Flodins, Stockholm (reciept)with a letter from the National Museum of History, Taipei, 18 May 1978, written by Ho Hao-Tian. The letter stated the handscroll together with lot 275 are both more than one hundred years old. The museum was commissioned to mount the paintings.
