A Chinese Carved Lapis-Lazuli Boulder Mountain. Smooth, Fine Lapis-Lazuli stone elaborately carved into a divine panoramic view of mountain life scene. Amidst the cliff face and evergreen, stands a deer (lu) resembling longevity as it is the friend of Shoulao-the god of longevity according to Daoist belief. Etched into the side of this microcosmic boulder is an eloquent poem which has been emboldened in a gilt pigment. Displayed on a carved Zitan hardwood base.
