Ornate Zitan carved Buddha temple, with opening in the front, surrounded by tapered skirts, topped with a monk headdress roof top. The exterior decorated in repeating geometric shapes that line the structures perimeter. The interior is lined with a rich golden linen which contrasts well with the dark tone of the wood. Very fine craftsmanship can be seen throughout this one of a kind antique. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected.
