Ming Dynasty Chinese Tibetan Gilt Bronze Shakyamuni Buddha sitting in a vajra meditation pose. With long hair, wearing fine heavenly clothing, along with rich adornments such as earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Shakyamuni still maintains his nirmanakaya - monastic - appearance plus the added crown. The Five Symbolic Buddhas appear in sambhogakaya form with the full dress of a bodhisattva or heavenly being. Golden in color with one face and two hands, the right hand performs the mudra of earth witness and the left placed in the lap which would usually hold black begging bowl. The Athe Eyes, lips, and hair have all been naturally hand painted, giving the Buddha a lively characteristic with serene cold gilt face appearance. Adorned with a crown of gold, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and anklets he wears rich brocades while seated in the full vajra posture. The Bronze is in immaculate condition with minimal marring of the surface. Extensive trace of gilt and blue pigment on the hair. Underside with incised quatrefoil flora-form petal visvavajra surrounding the centralized DaiJi.
