Brownies were first drawn in 1883 by Palmer Cox and were first introduced as books in a series of children's stories called "The Brownies,Their Book",a collection of fourteen Brownies stories, was the first Brownie book published.They are characterized by large round eyes, downturned mouths, and skinny legs. Toys,books,dinnerware,figurines,and other objects were made with the Brownies as part of the design.This unused set of six different Brownie characters is Copyrighted Jan 15, 1892 and features John Bull,Highlander, Canadian.
