Let's Walk Together' by Charles White is part of a collection of six lithographs published in 1953. Plate signed in lower right corner. Born in Chicago in 1918, Charles W. White is one of America's most renowned and recognized African-American Social Realist artists. Charles White worked primarily in black & white or sepia; white drawings, paintings, and lithographs. His artwork encompassed an incredibly skilled draftsmanship and artistic sensitivity and power that has reached and moved millions. “Let’s Walk Together” was an offset lithographic reproduction of a drawing by Charles White. It was published in a portfolio of 6 prints by the Communist periodical,Masses & Mainstream. lithographic reproductions of 6 Charles White drawings. The other images were : The Mother, Dawn of Life, Ye Shall Inherit the Earth, Harvest Talk and Abraham Lincoln.. The introduction was written by Rockwell Kent, who lauded White’s depiction of “the Negro people...in all their pathos and their dignity."
