竹，历来为文人墨客所钟爱，以物言志，通常竹子为最好的寄物抒情的本体。此件茶壶则以紫泥为胎，胎质坚实细腻，紫砂光色含蓄柔美，予人呈现清淡秀美气息。壶身作长方形，以竹段为材。嵌式壶盖上设双竹节桥钮。壶身外轮廓以两节镂细竹为饰，长短各异，腹部以竹节作纹饰，此类纹饰在早期“万寿壶”上亦有所见。壶把为使全器风格一致，亦呈竹节形制，壶流则采用银饰之，予人呈现雅致清幽之感。紫砂泥料特殊的属性，极易破碎，早期欧洲人极其珍视之，通常会采用金、银等金属，将其复修完整，足见其珍贵程度。参阅：《销往欧州的宜兴茶壶》
