Two white jade snuff bottles


20th centuryBoth of thin-sectioned profile, well-hollowed; the first carved with orchids on one side, the reverse with swallows flying over flowers, all above a continuous wave band rendered in incised lines, the recessed base incised with a two-character mark reading 'Xiangshu'; the second decorated with orchids to one side, the verso engraved with a poetic inscription followed with an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark heightened in gilt.2 3/16 and 1 13/16 (5.6 and 4.6cm) high
