The thick cylindrical sides of the brush pot are carved in varying relief with a Taoist figures among the mountain landscape walking on trails, all within a pierced ground with pavilions amid overhanging rocks and springs, gnarled pines wutong and prunus. The well-polished stone is of a milky white color with pale-celadon hue. Viewers of these work are meant to identify with a human figure in the painting, allowing them to walk through and dwell in the landscape. Displayed upon a carved hardwood stand.
