Finely preserved Chinese porcelain in a shallow vessel, with rounded cavetto rising to form the raised sides. The plate has a slightly flared rim and rests upon a ring footed base. The focal image depicts a robe man riding a horse accompanied by two servants on a mountain pathway. A variety of blue symbol, birds, flowers and vines ensconce a large portion of the surface area that painted applying on variety of five-colored pigments creates bold opaque hand-painting. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. Mark on base, a vertical six underglazed blue script -KaiShu- characters reign mark enclosed within double fine rings, Wanli Reign Period of Great Ming. Dimensions: 1-3/8" H x 7-1/8" Diam.
