EXTRA Large Chinese spinach-green jade plaque carved in shape of an elephant, standing with the head gazed toward right shoulder, simulated the musical chime (Qin), is a ministerial emblem and a symbol of the exercise of discrimination and of felicity, one of The Eight Precious Things, also known as the Eight Treasures, or babao in Chinese, are auspicious symbols of good fortune. The nephrite stone is decorated on reverse sides with shallow relief with stylized ruyi clouds with centralized four archaic character medallion. The spinach-green Jade plaque is connected by a Fu-bat shaped central enameled cloisonne work link supported and held by elaborately open work carved hardwood frame stand in floral foliate motif. The nephrite jade shows spinach-green color with shades of darker inclusions, with moist milky appearance. A stone chime Qing is an ancient musical instrument rather like a bell, it was an âLâ shaped stone suspended by a string and struck with a stick. Originally some of the stones were of made of jade. The chime is important in symbolism because Qing means âhigh ranking officialâ and Qing âcelebrateâ.
