"In this, one of his longest case histories, the post mortem, the slides, and apparently the drawing were made by Osler himself" (Golden & Roland 311). Neurologist Francis Dercum (1856-1931) joined with Osler, Joseph Leidy, William Pepper, and a few other prominent Philadelphia physicians and natural scientists agreed to donate their brains to the Wistar Institute for study after their deaths.
