The box cover is carved in relief with confronting kui dragons and is inset with white jade panels carved with elephants, four of the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang. The cover stands on a rectangular base supported on four angular feet, the apron is carved with taotie. Condition: The wood: there are expected small chips, wear, and fine age cracks. The jade: appears to be in overall good condition, with small nicks to the edges. Origin: China Period: 19th-20th century Sizes: 15.50 cm. H x 29.00 cm. W x 19.50 cm. D 6.1 in. H x 11.42 in.
