Attributed to Alonzo Chappel (New York, 1828-1887) Capture of Fort Ticonderoga Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 15 1/4 x 20 1/4 in., in a molded gilt-gesso frame. Condition: Laid down on Masonite, small spots of retouch near u.r. corner. Provenance: This and the four other Chappel paintings included in this auction are the property of the same consignor and have been in the consignor's family for several generations.
