《清异录》云：“花纹鹧鸪斑点，试茶家珍之。”此盏内壁对称分布菱形剪纸贴花图案三组，构图简练，图案新颖。外壁施黑釉，其上点洒鹧鸪斑釉，釉面与釉斑交相辉映，别具风韵。底足露胎，胎色灰白中泛黄。本品集剪纸贴花与鹧鸪斑彩于一身，将吉州窑装饰工艺特色发挥得淋漓尽致，可谓盛茶上品。
