炉为标准蚰龙耳炉，六字篆书款：“大明宣德年制”字体特殊，细妙精确，繁而不乱，雕精工艺，虽满且峻，为同类款识之妙识也。斯炉口沿微侈，颈短、耳拙、腹肥一、平底。壁原均匀，整雅沉稳，淡定高洁，为蚰耳中型佳者也。皮色深沉内敛，似蔚欲厚，蕴神辉煌，有精光自内发出，此炉皮色亦为去污锈后炼养而复，经年火养而成，红斑浮游其上，更显古拙，铜质精致细密，持之沉稳，叩之妙音优于它器之音者，如丝如缕，慢荡开去，令人神驰，此炉为明代上佳珍器。
