此手炉铜质精纯，打磨细腻，皮壳鲜亮，颇为典雅。炉身呈圆角矩形，直口丰肩，收腹卧足，配仿竹编篓式炉盖，为明清手炉的经典形制。底部刻有“张鸣岐制”张鸣歧，明代嘉靖至万历年间浙江嘉兴人，铜器工艺名手，善制铜手炉，与濮仲谦之刻竹，姜千里之螺钿，时大彬之砂壶齐名，并称明末工艺四大名家。
