博山炉为汉代铜器经典造型，《西京杂记》卷一有：“长安巧工丁缓者……又作九层博山香炉，镂为奇禽怪兽，穷诸灵异。”北宋吕大临《考古图》记：“香炉像海中博山，下盘贮汤使润气蒸香，以像海之四环。”此博山炉盖作海中仙山，镂空用以散溢焚香。山顶伫立神鸟，冠羽飘飘。盖、器设钮鼻，可翻折开合。半球形腹光素，下承花瓣托。炉座呈圆台形，素面素心。该炉雕镂精细，通体采用鎏金银工艺，造型活泼优美，是一件难得的艺术珍品。来源：日本藏家
