A Chinese Canton Enamel Dish Of saucer dish form, painted in famille rose enamels, the centre of the dish with a narrative theme, depicting an official in a mandarin hat with a blue button finial seated at a table holding a brush, on the table a brush pot with further brushes, four other Mandarin stand nearby, a woman kneels in front of the table, outside bamboo and stylised rock work, all framed by an intricately worked border depicting flying birds and colourful butterflies amidst lotus, chrysanthemum and other blossoms all reserved on a turquoise ground, the back rim similarly decorated.
