A SOAPSTONE FIGURE OF A LUOHAN, QING China, 1644-1912. The immortal intricately carved with a gentle smile, an urna above the eyes, and the hair in tight curls, wearing long flowing robes and holding a ruyi scepter in one hand, leaning against a layered rock with a censer on top, the smoke emerging behind him. Provenance: From an old French private collection. Condition: Good condition with minor wear, natural fissures of the stone may have developed into small cracks, tiny losses.
