Pair of giant feet and half feet in fiberglass presenting inside electric cables and metal and rubber applications, The exaggeration, the grotesque, the exasperation of masks, the comedy, the paradox. Everything contributes to make the number of clowns (often a couple formed by Augusto, the bungling clown, and the white clown, the most serious one) one of the main attractions of the circus, among laughter, somersaults, tumbles and absurd sketches. These feet were part of a set design, probably designed for the film The Clowns by Federico Fellini, and then used in Italian circus shows. The off-scale size, the reinforcement on the sole and the rubber footwear inside are elements that suggest that they were over-shoes; the internal electric cables make one's imagination wander towards the miraculous tricks they could perform; the breaks and failures make one imagine their repeated use and the thunderous laughter in response to the clowns' numbers.
