PROVENANCE: From private collector of The Rimig, by inheritance, private collectors, business entrepreneurs & philanthropies, most items believed to be acquired from BOOKER & LOOMIS Auctions, during late 19th C. Dimensions: 5.25in H x 5.375in W x 10.25in D Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Kangxi famille jaune monochrome bell vase. The porcelain potted in bell shape vase, globular lower body, narrow to the foot base, slight ovoid, tapered gracefully toward straight tall neck, raised on flat circle splayed foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in famille jaune underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. Famille Jaune meaning the "yellow family". This is a variant of the famille verte enamel palette in which the ground is covered with yellow enamel. The exterior decorated with congregate cumulus ruyi clouds. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze egg yellow concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep .
