Retiring from the military his next career was as a commercial pilot for Pan American and United Airlines flying 747 aircraft in the pacific and orient. During his layovers he searched for fine porcelains which he proudly added to his private collection. A portion of his collection is being sold at auction to benefit his charitable interests. Dimensions: 5-1/4" H x 11" Dia. Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Blue and white flowers plate. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, broad cavetto, with wide flaring opening lip, raised on a flat round foot base, with slight concave footing. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt under glazed blue, depicted with abundant flower blooms interspersed dense foliage and scrolling tendril.
