The exterior decorated with dense of hand painting in cobalt blue underglaze of lotus bloom and scrolling foliate. Repeated Ruyi pattern and topical leaves motif banded along the rim, neck, shoulder, and foot. Phoenix feather design wraps around the neckline. Phoenix plumage patterning adorns the lower rim with smoldering mist making up the continuous background. The vase looks a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman.
