A Study of a male nude oil on canvas, unframed 74 x 62.5 cm Condition report: Oil on canvas which appears to be unlined but has been reinforced around the edges of the painting. The canvas has good tension and the painting is generally in plane. An old damage in the area of the sitter's elbow has been repaired from the reverse with canvas threads. There is some wear in the lighter paint passages - mainly the shadows on the figure. Overall the paint layer is stable. There are a few scattered retouchings which are finely executed and well matched to the original. The varnish is clear, even and glossy.
