'Off Duty', 1893 signed lower right with initials 'TD' oil on panel 33.5 x 27 cm Condition report: Remnants of old gallery labels to the reverse, possibly for Arthur Jeffries Gallery. Oil on a wooden panel. The support is generally in plane, there is a split at the upper right quadrant following the wood grain. The paint layer has suffered from wear and abrasion. There are localised areas of raised paint. Scattered areas of retouching cover the abrasion - for example the raised arm of the central figure. The varnish is slightly uneven in gloss but clear.
