A Still life with a roemer, grapes, plums and a lemon on a marble ledge signed with initials lower right on the ledge oil on canvas 34 x 29 cm Footnote: Provenance: Sotheby's, 5th October 1977, lot 1 The reflection in the roemer is believed by repute to be a view near Colchester. Condition report: Oil on a fine weave canvas support which has been lined. The canvas is in plane with good tension. The paint layer is in a good, stable condition. There are scattered retouchings across the painting which are finely executed and well matched to the original. The varnish is glossy and even although slightly yellowed. The frame has suffered from wear to the gilding and has been overpainted with metallic paint.
