和阗白玉质地，致密温润，表面受黄色沁。鸳鸯采用立体圆雕的手法琢制而成，额头高凸，尖喙圆眼，扇形冠羽，曲颈回望，身体浑圆饱满，双翅贴服于体侧，双掌收于腹下。整件器物雕工简洁古朴，刻画出鸳鸯游弋于水上的闲适形象，生动灵巧。背部至底有一通天孔为佩挂之用，具有鲜明的元代风格。参阅：《英国国立维多利亚阿伯特博物院·中国古玉珍藏》图版-24收录“16世纪鹅形坠子”可供参考。
