GIOVANNI DOMENICO CAPPELLINO (GENOA 1580 - 1651) Matyrdom of a Female Saint pen and brown ink over black chalk, laid down 322 x 208 mm (12 1/2 x 8 1/4 in.) The present work draws stylistical comparison with another drawing by G. D. Cappellino in a private collection, New York (Fig. 1), and especially the distinctive presence of the sculpture to the left.
