｜Tibet. About 18th c.｜Silvery bronze with yellowish patina. The founder of the Kagyu school traditioon in Tibet and the chief disciple of Mialrepa. He is also known as the great physician of Dagpo and lived from 1079 to 1153. Here he is shown with a characteristic hat of a lama and in flowing robes. He sits in the attitude of Amitâyus, refering to him as one of his forefathers. Baseplate renewed. Height 11cm. Condition A/B.｜
