Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The lower tacking margin appears to have failed and nails have been secured through the front of the canvas holding it in place. There are undulations around the nails, but overall the large canvas is in a good condition overall. The paint layer has areas of wear following the tops of the canvas weave but overall it is in a good condition. There are a few small, scattered losses. The varnish is clear, even and semi-glossy with numerous fly spots across the surface. The frame has butt joins in the corners rather than mitres and is in a sound condition overall.
