A small Safavid qur'an, Iran, 18th century, 333ff., Arabic manuscript on paper, with 15ll. of neat black naskh per page within gold outer border, gold roundel verse markers, heading in gold, the first three folios a 19th century Ottoman replacement, the Qur’anic text followed by prayers, final prayer painted over in gold probably at the time of the Ottoman restoration, final folio with text covered in gold, the red leather binding with gold medallions and spandrels decorated with flowers, folio 11 x 6.4cm.
