Muhammad bin Sulayman al-Jazuli (d. 1465 AD): Dala’il al-Khayrat, signed ‘Abd al-Rahim al-Najjati, Qarahisar, Ottoman Turkey, dated AH 1218/1803-04 AD, 70ff., Arabic manuscript on paper, with 13ll. of neat black naskh within gold rule, gold roundel verse markers, headers with gold and polychrome floral decoration, opening bifolio with header with gold and polychrome floral decoration and text with gold cloudbands above, the margins decorated with a gold lattice design enclosing silver dots, bifolio with fine depictions of the Masjid al-Haram and Ka’ba in Mecca and the Mosque of the Prophet in Medina in silver, gold and polychrome, further headers and full pages similarly decorated, original brown morocco bind with flap and gilt and tooled spandrels and central medallion, folio 15.5 x 9.9cm.
